RETAINER WEAR AND CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Here's the fact: Retainers prevent your teeth from moving or shifting
Here’s how you keep your teeth straight:
First Year: Wear Your Retainers Every Night. Usually 8-10 hours.
After the First Year: Use your retainers as a template to check to see if your teeth are shifting. If your retainer feels tight - wear it that night. If it’s not tight, you don't need to wear it that night. Do this every night. Everyone is unique and the only way to tell if your teeth are shifting is to check nightly and wear your retainer to control it.
Continue to wear your retainers even if your wisdom teeth have been removed
Take care of your Retainers: Brush them with water only. Toothpaste will scratch and weaken them. Don't wrap them in a napkin and protect them from pets. Keep your Retainers in the protective case when you are not wearing them.
If you lose or break a Retainer, call us immediately.
Teeth will move if Retainers are not worn.
