Dr. John Younis has been providing outstanding orthodontic care since 1995. He earned his undergraduate degree and dental degree from West Virginia University graduating Summa Cum Laude and ranked first in his class. Dr. Younis completed his master’s degree and three year orthodontic residency and specialty certification at the University of Pittsburgh.
To stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in the field of orthodontics, Dr. Younis attends annual orthodontic continuing education and maintains active membership in numerous prestigious professional organizations. He is a past President of the West Virginia Association of Orthodontists, Past President of the Eastern Panhandle Dental Society, and a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the Southern Association of Orthodontists and the West Virginia Association of Orthodontists.
A native son of West Virginia, Dr. Younis was born and raised in Wheeling and is proud to be living here with his wife and two children. Dr. Younis has always been an active supporter of children’s education in the Eastern Panhandle. He has served on the Local School Improvement Councils of both the Shepherdstown Elementary School and Jefferson High School. He served for seven years on the Shepherd University Board of Governors and sponsors scholarships for the Youth Community Music Program at Shepherd University. Outside the office, Dr. Younis enjoys collecting comic books, reading, and playing with his dogs. When he is not fixing smiles, he loves to work on fixer upper projects at home and the office.
